Salruth Cottage has just been made available for self-catering, holiday rental. Furnished to a high standard, it enjoys a unique location in Clackmannanshire, Central Scotland with its proximity to a multitude of varying major attractions. We are less than 10 miles from two of the top three visitor attractions in Scotland - Blair Drummond Safari Park and Stirling Castle.
Less
than 8 miles from the historic city of Stirling and 6 miles
from the Wallace Monument, the detached
Victorian cottage makes a
wonderful choice for a year round break for couples or
families.
The area abounds with scenic, yet inexpensive, golf courses for all standards; provides fishing in local rivers and Gartmorn Dam Fishery; has miles and miles of flat, off-road, car-free family cycling opportunities; features unparalleled off-road walking and running routes and has a horse riding centre on its doorstep (with facitilites for the disabled). The cottage itself is less than 3 miles from the magnificent backdrop of the Ochil Hills which, in themsleves, provide hill walking routes for all standards, young and old, with breathtaking views for all.
For the less energetic, Clackmannanshire, Stirlingshire and Fife are steeped in history and offer the shopper a wealth of variety. For the twitcher, Gartmorn Dam Country Park and Nature Reserve provides a temporary home for migratory birds and, for the young and maybe not so young, an opportunity to feed the ducks and swans.
Being located in the town of Alloa, the cottage affords the holidaymaker after a day's sightseeing, the choice of walking to the nearest pub or enjoying a relaxing evening in the large secluded rear garden - without the worry of who is driving. Alternatively, the local train station is less than 10 minutes walk away and Glasgow (30 miles), Edinburgh (35 miles), Stirling (8 miles) and Perth (33 miles) all within easy reach.
Other attractions within easy travelling distance of the cottage include Culross, Alloa Tower, Dunfermline Abbey, the Falkirk Wheel, Gleneagles Golf Courses and Castle Campbell.
Slightly further afield, but still within 50 miles, are Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park and St. Andrews. |
